Cultivating Your Kid's Responsibility By Keeping Pet

Pet keeping is a good way to cultivate kid's responsibility, for kids are used to accepting care and love but most of them just have no ideas about giving love and looking after others. By keeping pets, kids will learn that every life deserves our respect and attention. Besides they will know how to take care of others as well as improve self-care ability at the same time. Among so many kinds of pets in the pet market now, I think fish will be the most suitable option for kids. Compared with pets like dogs and cats, fishes are safer and cleaner to keep at home. Dogs and cats may attack kids or hurt them by accident during the playing, after all kids are still too young and delicate to protect themselves. In addition, the size of dog and cat are rather big for kids, it may bring them some difficulties to look after such kind of animals especially when it comes to pet cleaning. By contrast, fish is easier to keep, you just need to buy your kid an aquarium fish tank and some fishes, and then teach him or her some basic knowledge about fish keeping, like how often should he feed the fishes and change the water in the tank. And if your kid is old enough, you could even teach him how to clean the fish tank. Your kid will begin to understand the responsibility in his or her shoulders and he or she will learn how to undertake responsibility as well, which is a really good approach to cultivate your kid's sense of duty.
You could also cultivate your kid's innovation ability. Buy your kid some fish tank decorations and teach him how to decorate the fish tank, or you could let the kid to do it by himself or herself. The decoration effect is not the most important thing, but your kid can enjoy the fun of learn and design independently.
